Protecting Young Children Workshop

This workshop for parents and caregivers covers real versus perceived personal safety dangers to children, such as issues around abduction and sexual abuse.

Parents often face the question of how much to tell children to prepare them and how much to keep from them to preserve their innocence. Some of the class will be spent discussing what parents’ role is in teaching safety concepts, and how to use opportunities to develop children’s intuition and self-reliance instead of fear or paranoia.

The Parent Workshop is always open to the public, though it sometimes accompanies graduation from a Children’s Personal Safety Workshop that parents and caregivers are also invited to attend. There is no cost for the class.

We ask that no children over 4 or under 16 accompany parents due to the nature of the material.
